HEYYY! Another Ohio member! Awesome

Not too far from me either
Well just the general list for normal upkeep, minor and semi major repair, here's what *I* suggest.
Impact Driver (this WILL be your bestest friend in the whoooole world)
Metric socket set (the more sockets the better, you will need from at least 6mm up i would think)
Metric Allen wrenches
various flat and phillips head screw drivers
rubber mallet
hammer
adjustable (cresent type) wrench
Vice grips
scribes (more handy than you first think)
Torque wrench (if its available, if not Harbor Freight has em pretty cheap and they'll do the job pretty decently)
small powered screw gun (for being lazy when REMOVING losened bolts and what not. NOT for tightening things down )
A gasket scraper or something to use as such
Spark plug socket (if its not in your socket set)
MULTI METER (an absolute must, along with the impact driver, another good buddy)
Wire cutters/strippers
Circlip/Snapring pliers
Channel locks and needle nose pliers
Lots of good shop rags
Other things that can be handy should you have the area to use them
Air compressor
Bench Vice
Buffer/Grinder
Dremmel or other type rotary tool
(BTW Harbor Freight is having a HUGE sale June 6-8th i believe, so you can likely pick up whatever you cant get from the garage then)
Im sure there are things I am forgetting, but I think this is a pretty good start.
IF ya ever need a hand, feel free to give a shout, I like to wrench, and meeting GSRs and working on GSs is always fun
