A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Considering our "full-of-character" charging systems, perhaps one of these might be handy:

EDIT: Forgot to mention, people in the US will have to go through Mike's XS, not 650 Direct. They are the same people, they just serve different markets. FYI, the GS1100 uses the same battery as the XS650, and shares the same tire sizes.

That is a cute LED Volt meter, but what part is the mount? The entire plate or just the part around the LED cluster.

I had one of those on my shadow. It was made by Kyurkian (sp?). It was attached with double sided tape and had two wires going to it. Not sure how accurate it was I just kept an eye to make sure the same lights were always lit. Therefore there were no changes in voltage. The tape lasted for 60k miles. I rode in all weather and had no issues with it coming lose

Found Another One...

Continuing in the spirit of cheap and cheerful GS upgrades, I present to you the $20 Schumacher battery/charging system monitor, available at a Wal Mart near you (in Canada anyway). With a bit of fiddling, and perhaps running a bead of Krazy Glue around the seams to make it water tight, it should be a neat addition to the ol 1100. At this price, I will probably throw one on the Bandit and XS too.

That's really cool, I want one!

I've been thinking about a voltmeter on my 650, but space is really limited on these bikes!

That's a good idea.

I've had the black one on my GS1000 for a couple of years now. It works great. Mines velcroed to the handle bar between the handlebar clamps. Only problem I had was the back isn't attached very well and seperated from the main gauge assembly. A simply bead of silicon fixed it and made it more waterproof too.
