I have had my fair share of unveiling the mysteries of GS-electrics. I haven't disconnected the warning bulb on the instrument panel yet, but that red battery light keeps annoying me when I ride, especially at night. Although I've had no trouble from the RR/stator after doing "right thing" some three years ago, I still have a slight paranoia when touring. The ordinary voltmeter I installed is too wobbly to provide any comfort, so I 'm concidering getting something more sophisticated..
Does anybody have any experience with the "Heads-up" voltage monitor from signaldynamics? I was thinking I could try to replace the red plastic covering the battery warning signal with a piece of transparent plastic, and then mount the LED coming with the Signaldynamics unit there instead. Would that be possible?
