A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

Thinking of getting some fork gaiters for my 81 GS400L. Found some at Old Bike Barn, but they're 39mm and 41mm. Does anyone know which are the correct sized gaiters for my bike?

Thanks!!

Waiting for the answer for i have the site saved to my favorites. gaiters will be making an appearance

On my GS850 I used the shock boots/gaiters from my Pro Comp Explorer off road shocks. They fit fine and had enough length for full extension on the fork tubes. But, they're red, if that matters at all.;)

i have heard that Rancho Shock covers (available at most auto parts stores) work well and are reasonably priced.

Not sure if they are available in sizes or if the one size that is available just happens to fit our bikes.

.

Yes, autoparts are a good bet. Shock boots for off-road pick-up trucks etc I suppose. I got these there but lost the box(I usually save the box stuff comes in) so I can't give you the brand name. I found them a bit too long and eventually cut them off a few turns at the bottom, but the fit is very good. These will fit many Japanese bikes and who knows what else? a pretty standard size per our forks...You need to cut a tiny air hole in them or they will collapse with suction.

I've seen some ebay ones that were very cheap but they were wrong about the size they listed and despite saying they were good for triumphs and what-all, they really will only fit a small trailbike.
