    A note to old forum members...
    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

    Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

    Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

    If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

My 82 gs850 L needs new seals and oil I am sure. Bobs up and down pretty easy and I seen a little oil on the left fork shaft.

I did a search but most threads are people asking for help and the standard reply is do a search.

I also checked Basscliff's website but didn't see instructions for fork rebuild on there. So please point me in the right direction if you can.

I do have a Haynes Manual but I find that a bit harder to use. They don't seem as well written back then as Haynes manuals today. I was able to fix my charging system via the stator papers more so then using the manual.

The information on your site is great, I am not afraid to tear into anything on that bike with all the great information you and everyone makes available.

Just in case you missed it, there is an 850G manual available for download on my site. It's a full Suzuki Shop manual with supplements for all the years and models. There is also a link to a library resource of online Clymer manuals in PDF format which you can download and save, one section at a time. Feel free to help yourself.

Cliff there is a free software programme available to amalgamate all the individual parts of the manual downloads into one large PDF document. You can either do it by chapter or a whole complete manual. This software also enables you to delete pages where necessary (you understand what I mean) wink wink say no more. If you get what I mean.

Hi Mr. Suzuki_Don,

I've been using an open source program called PDF Split and Merge. I've had to splice together bits and pieces of PDF manuals sent to me for use on my website. It can be used to split a large PDF file into smaller parts for emailing purposes. It's a handy tool. Is that what you use?

Cliff the program you use is not the one I am talking about, although it may well do the same job. The program that was referred to me by Andre (MATCHLESS) is PDFill PDF Editor 5.0.

When downloading the manual portions from the library site that we have been using, let's say the subject heading is "FRONT CALIPER" when it is downloaded the last page is a useless page put there by the library and often the second last page is the same page number as the first page of the next section. So this program enables you to delete both these pages so when it is all merged together there are no page double ups or pages not needed.

I have done a complete manual on the 550 and 650. Each one is only one PDF document (albeit large).

Hope this has been of some help, even if long winded. If not for you Cliff then maybe for some others. Regards. Don.
