Well I bought some 2-wire front turn signals off ebay for my '83 gs 1100 gl. They will be a few days getting here. I started poking around for the wires that go to the signals and am not sure which ones they are. I opened the head light bucket thinking they would branch off the main trunk of wires. Looking at the wiring diagram I was expecting a black and a black/white wire to each signal. I found 2 black wires terminating in a female clip, 2 light green wires terminating in a female clip, 2 brownish wires terminating in a female clip and one silver/gray wire terminating in a female clip. Am I even in the right area? I assume the signals will have the male end.

I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. Returning Visitors
If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.
If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

I am not sure you are in the right area, on mine I have a black & grey wire coming out of the signal stalk. There is also a black ground with from a ring ground lug that attaches to the stalk on the inside of the mounting ear under the nut and it also goes into the bucket. Once you have the headlight bucket open pull out the existing wire connections without disconnecting them. I always leave everything hooked up and change wires out one at a time to avoid getting a wire in the wrong place.

Take the wires you supect to be the turn signal wires and test them 1 at a time. Connect your meter - wire to ground at the batery, then use the + wire from your meter (red) and probe the ends of the supect wires.
Chances are you have 1 or 2 wires that show battery voltage when the key is on these would be the running lights which you may or may not use depending on the lights you are getting. Then turn on your left blinker and look for a wire that has battery voltage only when the left blinker is on, that will be the left blinker wire, do the same with the right blinker. Now you have to find the ground. Key off the meter in ohm setting look for a wire that shows a dead short to ground, that will be the ground wire. You will then use a ground wire to each light with the wire you determined went to each blinker. If it has running lights, the bulb will have 2 filiments then you would use the wire that shows power with just the key on.
