    A note to old forum members...
    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

    Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

    Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

    If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Your honest opinion on A.M. exhaust

I have almost put a thousand miles on my GS since I have got it running and (knock on wood) haven't had any problems yet! Of course now I like to let my mind wander about what I could do mod related, and if it is one thing I could change it would be the exhaust.

I have been told by a few people that it sounds like a scooter especially when riding around at low RPM :p ....and I really love the sound of these bikes with vance and hines pipes, plus they are very cheap.

Has anyone just bolted on a vance and hines onto their stock bikes and been okay? Or is their a lot of tweaking and definitely and jet upgrade in order for that? Thank you for your input guys :)

Umm lots of us have replaced our stock pipes with V&H or some other brand of pipe. It is pretty straight forward install a pipe, just usually a direct bolt on, no modifying at all. As for jetting the carb that could be a bit tricky depending on the route you take. Keeping the stock filter and air box, probably won't have to rejet, install a K&N stock replacement filter, yes to some jetting changes (mostly just a couple steps on the mains) and if you go with pods, then it becomes a bit more work. If your expecting a power increase from a pipe, your"re not gonna see much. What you do gain is weight reduction and a better HP to weight ratio and a nice throaty sound.

Me, I installed a pipe, kept the stock air box set up and installed a K&N filter. Had to go from 112.5 to 115.5s on the main jets.
