TGSR Bike Of The Month
1983 Suzuki GS1100E
Owner: Adam Reinke
A Note From The Owner
This is a picture of my '83 GS1100E I finished working on this winter. It was in nice shape, but I wanted to go the full and do it right, so I had the bike repainted using a laser-paint-matching process and I worked directly with www.reproductiondecals.com to have the side cover and tank emblems made for the blue GS1100E. Overall it turned out fantastic and the new Vance and Hines 4-1 exhaust was the cherry on top.
Other work includes:
-Progressive Suspension fork springs.
-15W fork oil, anti-dive disabled, but still functional if desired.
-Air system front-fork still functional, but not used (progressive modification doesn't require air pressure)
-ATK fork brace.
-Stainless steel front brake lines.
-Ferodo Platinum Plus brake pads, rotors scuffed per instructions, pads beaded properly.
-Rebuilt front master cylinder, new seals
-Progressive rear adjustable shocks with 120/90 springs.
-K&N Superbike bars.
-Napoleon bar-end mirrors.
-R&R replaced last year as preventative maintenance.
-Barnett clutch kit, original springs to retain easy clutch pull.
-Dynojet Jet "Stage 1" kit per Vance & Hines instructions.
-Vance & Hines 4-1 chrome exhaust system, brand spankin' new.
-630 chain (RK O-ring) with approximately 1000 miles.
-Brand new (500 miles) Avon Roadrider tires, comparable to Pirelli Sport Demon and Metzeler Lasertec.
-H4 Halogen Headlight
Pictures only do half-justice for this machine. Riding it is hard to put into words, but it rides as good as it looks! Everyone should ride one of these bikes some time in their life...it's truly one of the best GS's ever made.
