This ride was put together in the GS Meetingplace
area of the forums for all New England area GS owners. Will
all the rain that we had in June, especially on the weekends, it
was hoped that we would luck out and have a good day. It
worked out as well as it could for riding. No rain, nice
temperatures and filtered sun so you wouldn't bake to death.
The meeting place was an old diner located on
Route 2A in East Templeton, Massachusetts. This area is
close to the Quabbin Reservoir, an excellent place with quiet,
rural roads. So everyone met at 12 Noon with the intention
of eating lunch there. Come to find out the diner was
closed. So we waited a 1/2 hour or so for other riders to
show up, going over each others bikes and taking pictures.
Eventually we ended up having 12 GS's and one Harley show
up. Not bad for an informal get-together!

At the diner
Once everyone arrived, we headed off looking for a
place to eat lunch. We came upon Joseph's Pub and stopped
there. Good food and a good looking waitress, what more
could you ask for?

Joseph's Pub
Now that everyone had a good lunch we all decided
to hit the roads around the Quabbin. Led by Andy Pillage,
the group headed off for the back roads. It's hard to
believe that relatively uninhabited roads like that still exist
nowadays. A beautiful area for touring and if you are of the
"sporty" persuasion this would be a nice place to head
to.
The tour proceeded along quite well and with the
exception of one minor off-road excursion, things went well.
It was nearing 4 PM and getting the time we're it was time for
some of us to head home so we stopped at a gas station in Orange,
MA to load up before hitting the road.

At the gas station
The station was being operated by an old guy who
wasn't quite sure what all these bikers were up to. After a
while he realized that we weren't Hell's Angel members and he
calmed right down. In fact he hopped on one of the bikes and
he could be heard going Vroom, Vroom.

The 'Old Guy'
We then proceeded to hit the road celebrating the
fact that we had great weather (after 5 weekends straight of rain)
while enjoying a great ride in the company of fellow GS
riders. Let's hope we can do this again!
