Ok Bwringer you wanted a review.

Got the tires about 2 weeks ago. Install took a 20 minutes each tire, took old tire off new tire on and balance beads in the tire. These tires went on so easy. Bead set was one small bounce and it sealed.
Tread looks very sweet.
Grip during rough in, 55 miles so far, Is better then the Dunslops ever had that I just replaced.
Riding from dry to wet streets didn't seem to have much affect on the slower speed during rough in.
The new tire constant lean contact seems to be very good( IT WORKSlike thet claim).
As I get more miles on the tire I will come back and write more on pros and cons.
I may not be the best choice for how many miles the tire will get, due to I ride 4 different bikes, I try to get about 5000 miles a year on the GS and the Concours and 2000 miles a year on the Marauder and the Ninja toy 500r.
So far I love the Roadrider, would I buy it again on my first impression? YES

Well hit 65 miles on it today....grip is getting better by the mile!

Well hit 115 miles today 3/31/07 grip is better and stopping distance is great!!

Tires Express is another fairly well-respected supplier. Their tire prices are outstanding, but add in higher shipping costs and they come out within $2 or $3 of everyone else. Oh well.

With that said, a set of the Avons for my bike delivered to my door is $60 less than my last set of Pirelli Sport Demons. It sounds like they handle well, and I'm very interested in how they wear. I'll probably be due for a set about June or July, so I might be one of the next experimental action heroes.

You gotta love being able to put 2007 tires on 1980s bikes!

Avon Roadriders, AM 26...

Just rode 100 miles on the new Roadriders, on a 1983 GS 750E.
The bike handles excellently, a huge improvement, but the old rear tire was completely squared off, so not a fair comparison. It seemed very stable in turns, whatever angle I wanted it was there. Accuracy in corners was very good.
They have very good traction. Sandy spots and wet spots, it seems absolutely secure. Had my wife on the back so didn't get real crazy with the lean angle, but I did do some fairly hard braking in turns, in a wet spot, as well as ripping the throttle in second coming out of a few wet sandy corners. Very tight. Hit the brakes once really hard, on dry pavement going straight, (fox in the road) I was impressed, not a hint of slippage or howling on either wheel, it had a lot more to give.
Don't know how long they would last, but the remnants of the little strings were still there in the center of the tread after 100 miles.
The one thing I noticed was that they kind of wiggled a little bit in rain grooves at high speed, nothing annoying, just a tight little wiggle.
From what I've seen today, they are excellent.

Not many models of tires have the closest metric replacement to OEM sizes for GS850G. Checking your URL, the Avon Road Rider lines does. That's a plus.
