The only bonus to aftermarket coils if your stock ignition is still good is the ability to change plug wires completely. Other than that, unless your dealing with a hotted motor and want control of advance with a Dyna2000 set up or something, Nes is absolutely correct. Save your bucks.

Very high RPM the Dyna coils might make a differenec, rare that you'd notice it over a good stock setup though....1980 GS1000G - Sold

Blah blah... a coil is a coil. What does that stronger spark do for you? If it's big enough to light the fuel etc.... it's very much a law of diminishing returns with coils.
You can get by far the biggest spark by running low ohm coils... try running 1 ohm coils with points... it'll be great whilst the points last! If they work & the wires are good don't worry about it. If they don't, Dyna's or Accel's are as good as anyones...

With after market coils you are able to open the spark plug gap up and still have a hot strong spark and get results like what you have all said which is have a more complete burning of the air/fuel. You may see some improvement with fuel economy and it should idle smoother too..
