Thanks to all who responded to this thread. It was really informative. I am surprised at the number who like the magnetic fastenings. I guess I´m old school, but I think I prefer a strap-fastened bag about the size of my Eclipse(s) which gave me such good service. A few of the earlier posts mentioned the Nelson-Rigg model that straps on. There was one on EBay and I nailed it today. So I´m back with a good tankbag (just in time for winter.) Thanks again to all.

What did you have to pay for it? I thought I scored at $47.00.

I'll bet its brand new still in the plastic bag in the box.

It wasn´t as cheap as I´d hoped. It spiraled up to $56 with shipping on top. So, its a done deal and I´m looking forward to maybe a couple of rides with it before its too cold here.

Holy schneikes, check out the latest tank bag deal from NewEnough -- this is basically two bags in one. A whole storage system mounted atop one's fuel container for a measly $47.99. All together, it's fairly ridiculous, but you basically get two bags in one.

          Magnet mount:

Strap mount for the Luddites (magnetism has been around a while -- it's not the work of Satan, you know...) :
