I was all about both Simple Green and Purple Power, but I am hooked on a newer product. Its made by STP, Its called Oomph...That stuff is amazing, puts the other to shame yet its mild enough to clean your hands with it. I use it on wheels and tires on all my vehicles with amazing results as well. We sell it at work (manager at Autozone) right next to purple power and simple green, Try it, you'll be a beleiver...
On a side note, I got sprayed in the eye with purple power and it was insane, about 15 mins of washing it out and I couldnt open my eye without shooting pain for a few hours.... BTW the employee who sprayed it is no longer employed by us...I winLast edited by Guest; 11-23-2009, 12:15 AM.

I got three gallons in the mail today. Also saw on another site it works well to clean carbon buildup off pistons. 5 min and toothbrush is pretty clean. 1 hours and the pistons sparkle.
Originally posted by jdmcb3siI have been using this stuff to clean everything to get ready to reassemble and be able to shoot it with some paint (high temp black or BBQ black) and decided I would see how good it worked on carbon build up.
I started with the pistons and the result is amazing!
before:
this is after a 5 min. soaking and using a tooth brush to scrub it:
now after sitting for around an hour:
then I did the chambers on the cylinder head and this is after soaking for 20mins and using the same tooth brush to scrub:
I would reccomend this stuff to anyone. it works wonders on everything :cheers

I used PP on my engine last weekend with good result. It's also a great bilge cleaner for you boaters out there.

Oh wait i didn't post the pics up of my pistons after a little soak in the purple POWAH
Ok so I apparently don't have a picture of the top of the pistons before, but here's the head and it was just as nasty as the pistons
And here is a couple pistons after a little soak and just a light brushing off with a prepurposed tooth brush and a rinse.
