    Seat resoration

I needed my seat redone 0n my GS1000S. Robert Renz in Tulsa Ok was recomended to me by a friend who used him on auto restorations, He researched the original condition and redid my seat as close to perfect as I have seen. The info is:

    How about some photos?

I had a local shop try to replicate the seat cover on my 1980 1000S and they did a pretty good job but it's not perfect; the vinyl pattern is off a little and the stitching looks ever so slightly different from stock. I'm not complaining but would be interested in finding a shop that specializes in exact replication.

I like that seat on that 650. Looks like you had him level the driver sitting area so it's not leaning backwards so much. I bet that's a help.

.....he does a double (baseball) stitch like Nessism has on his seat but the stitches are not as near as straight. Im not crazy about the pattern on your S seat Ed, but the workmanship looks very nice.

Thanks ddanials on my seat. When I redone it I cleaned up the pan I just wired brushed it all down and repainted it. The metal was in excellent shape. The foam was in perfect shape on it. I had the guy at CCreations shave the foam in the back where my butt sits to a more up and down shape like a mini touring seat and I had him shave the sides where my inner thighs touch the seat to a 45 degree angles so they wouldn't rub so much and he put an extra layer of foam down the center. It rides fantastic now. I did a 420 mile ride on it and no numbness whatso ever. He did a super job on recovering it all for $95.
