I bought two of these, one for my GS650 and one for my Duck. Both got here really fast, and the second one, for the duck, was ordered on friday, and got here the following tuesday. And I live on Guam, a good 13,000 miles away.

The ebay sellers have the actual cca ratings there.

So far, it's a good battery! Back when I was getting the GS to start, it could go through cranking for what seemed forever while I was trying to get fuel in the float bowl. I bought a smaller one than the one rated for the Monster, but it still does the same!

With the vacuum petcocks, leaving them in the 'Prime' position for a couple minutes before hitting the starter, helps with this.

Yes, it does. This was two years ago when I first got the bike.

I recently bought one too. Ebay seller sent it priority so it arrived in three days coming from FL. The box says it doesn't need to be charged but I threw it on my 1A charger for about 8 hours anyway. Looking forward to trying it out.

The original link does not work. Do you have a fresh link? Which one did you buy? I did a search for the MBTX14AU but didn't find any for sale on ebay.

Yeah, that's the seller. But he doesn't have any MBTX14AU. Is that the part number you bought, or did you get something else?

                  Hey Bruce,

I bought this one..."You are bidding on a brand new YTX14AHBS replacement battery. Mfg part MBTX14AU"

                  Says this..."This battery replaces the YTX14AHBS, YTX14AHLBS, YTX14AH, YB14A2, YB14AA1, YB14AA2, YB14LA1, YB14LA2, YB14LA2S, SYB14LA2, SYB14LB2, YB14B2, and 12N143A."

It fits perfectly in a chain drive GS1000.

Seems like the guy is out of stock of this battery....

                      Anyone got other options?

I had good experience with the Scorpion from Battery Stuff till recently. My friends 100% stock 750ES, the battery just developed a split on the side near a moulding line & starting leaking fluid. Hope it was a 1 off but battery stuff's response is:

                      Richard,
There is actually no seam in the battery case at that spot on the battery. It is leaking from what would be a developed crack. From the visible signs of wear on the different spots of the battery, it appears that some tension or rubbing would be the cause of this crack, and not a defect.

                      Thanks,

                      Jeremy Fear

I agree that there is no seam there but there is a mould line so it would tend to be a weak spot in their casing. The battery is about a year old but the battery box is well protected etc.

I called the company and spoke to a representative there. They stock a lot more than they post on eBay. Unfortunately, at the time their web site was hit or miss, so I just called them and spoke to a parallel biped.

Here is the listing on their web site for the battery, it is still priced at $0.00, which is why I called them. http://www.motobatteries.com/p-494-mbtx14au.aspx They had it in stock and shipped it right out.

Here are current eBay listings, both from the same person:

eBay Motors makes it easy to find parts for cars, trucks, SUVs, motorcycles & more. We even offer a massive selection of new & pre-owned classics, hot rods, exotics, vans, ATVs, RVs, boats and more at eBay Motors. Shop for your next vehicle, or start selling in a marketplace with 171 million buyers.

I went with the Amazon option as it was $5 cheaper after shipping.
