The UPS man would park his big truck at the front of our subdivision and deliver packages from a golf cart during the holidays. I've no idea where he kept the cart.
Saw him riding the hood several times. Even had one delivered from the cart myself. I think he got offended when I chuckled as he handed over the package.
Never heard of packages stolen off someones front porch until now. I'm sure it happens, just never gave it a second thought.

I believe that any supplier, including Babbitt's is making an error in judgment when they only offer one shipping option and will only provide shipping cost at the completion of the order. There are just too many competitors for them to make that sort of thing fly. Using only UPS or FEDEX as a shipper is for their benefit, nor ours. Many parts can be delivered by USPS for a lot less and much faster. Priority mail is 3 days max and delivery is almost always 5 days by UPS. Faster and cheaper options would improve their customer service and gain business for them but what do I know? I'm just the guy who spends my parts dollars elsewhere. Mostly with partshark.

Wow, I can't believe the bashing you guys are leveling on this dealer! OK, he might be a little clunky with his on-line business, but does he deliver the right part in a prompt manner for a reasonable price? ,BK

Looking through my old emails, I found that I did use Babbitts for an order about four years ago (I had forgotten about that completely). They left out a part and did not respond to emails or a phone call. It was a $3 part and so wasn't worth my time to pursue the matter further.

Also, I note that shipping was close to $15 for a box of goodies about the size of a toaster.

I love partshark but he's slow. No issues if I can order ahead of time. Love doing business with you Chris, but it is slow lol. Anyway, I order stuff at the dealer if I need a bunch of little things now. It only takes a couple days and if you subtract shipping from ordering online, it's usually the same.

I did also have a signature required LCD monitor left on my porch of my apartment back 6 years ago when they were still very expensive by UPS. I was less than impressed. Thankfully my neighbors were all probably too stupid to know what LCD meant at the time so they left it alone.

Sometimes I like to buy a money order at CVS and mail it. It obviates the entire billing address quandry.

Last year I bought a printer on Ebay. The seller required PayPal, but the system was constipated and wouldn't take my money. So I emailed the seller, and got his permission to use the money order. He had his money in hand within three days and shipped the next.

Reminds me of ebay in the olden days before paypal.
