    morgan carbtune deliveries

    Hi Guys,
Bought a carb tune and carb adjusting tool from them. Just a heads up on shipping. It is now 6 weeks for delivery. It was supposed to be 7-10 days. They were very responsive about emails. Just letting everyone who is thinking about buying, what to expect.

Only a couple of weeks ago, another member here ordered his on (I believe) Wednesday, it arrived the following Friday.

    I wonder what has happened.

I wouldn't necessarily suspect the company as the source of the problem here many (probably all) I know about that have purchased from the company have had good response from them, me included.

Being an expat Brit I regularly rely on the mail service for sending or receiving stuff from over the pond. At best I've found the service to be unreliable especially around Christmas time that's about when it's at it's worst but delivery times are extremely variable all year. I sent a family calendar to my parents in plenty of time for Christmas... or so I thought. Yep, you've guessed it... still not arrived. Sadly 6 weeks is nothing compared so some things I've waited on.

Equally bad both ways I'm afraid.

It's smoke that make electronic components work.
Every time I've let the smoke out by mistake, they never work again.

I have a Colortune on order. The explanation I got was that this is a terrorism/security problem. Morgan said after the attempted printer cartridge bomb, security procedures have become unwieldy.

I don't believe it's the company. They said shipping was miscommunicated and it's coming by boat not airmail. So that's the reason for delay.

Below is the communication I recieved

            Thank you for your order.
We want to let you know that your order has been received and will be
            processed as soon as possible.
As soon as it is processed and payment has been authorised. Your order
will be sent within 3 working days and will take a few days to reach you
in the UK and about 10 working days to reach you by airmail in Europe and
Rest of World ( not USA read below).
As long as the payment is authorised your order will be shipped.
USA CUSTOMERS PLEASE NOTE. FROM 18 NOVEMBER (AFTER PRINTER CARTRIDGE BOMB)
ALL PARCELS ARE DELAYED. DELIVERY TIMES ARE MUCH MORE THAN 2 WEEKS AND
MORE LIKE 2-3 WEEKS LONGER THAN THAT. AFTER PACKETS LAND AT THE AIRPORT
THEY NO LONGER GO BY COMMERCIAL AIRLINES WITHIN USA BUT ARE TRANSPORTED BY
OTHER METHODS. THIS HAS GREATLY INCREASED THE NORMALLY GOOD DELIVERY TIMES
TO THE USA. SORRY ABOUT THIS BUT WE HAVE NO CONTROL OVER USPS.
We will only email you again if your delivery is delayed or if there are
problems with the payment or address details. Otherwise assume that it
will be sent within three working days.

              I'm still waiting too

Count me in as one who has ordered a colortune from Morgan. That was on Jan 12th. I'm patiently waiting for this tool that looks to be the cats meow when tuning up the bike. Every day I eagerly await the postman only to be disappointed again. I started an upper engine rebuild in late October in an unheated garage in Maine and now I've got the GS750L back together and waiting to be tuned up. You talk about cold fingers! Although, I must admit, it hasn't been all that bad. I'd do it again in a minute. That '79 is one sweet ride. I've gone all over the electrics as well and am hoping to find that the charging problem has gone away. I discovered the white/green line from the stator up through the headlight switch had nothing coming back on the white/red line. Elimination of that leg was in order. Maybe today when I get home from work that colortune will be waiting for me. I also received that same email from Morgan. I don't blame them at all. It's just the times we are living in.

Well, yes I have. I must admit that I've been lurking in the shadows while drinking up all the excellent tutorials and sage advice here and also from other members sites including yours which I have found to be invaluable. I have some photos I've taken of my rebuild and should post on gsresource but more than likely they should go in the rebuild thread. I know how much I've enjoyed seeing others pictures of their passion.

Why don't people just order a carb tuner from Motion Pro?

I ordered before realizing there was a problem slowing delivery but I have also heard better reviews for the Morgan unit than others.

I also called Morgan to order and due to delivery time was instructed that two dealers here carry product. Ordered from beemerboneyard and had immediate delivery. But paid for three day delivery. Maybe cancel order and buy in states, Hope this helps. http://www.beemerboneyard.com/ http://www.carbtune.com/ Tel 028 9023 9007

I'm happy to report that my order from Morgan in Great Britain for the colortune tool arrived yesterday in the US mail. It's been since Jan 12th that I ordered it. Now everything is in place to get my rebuild finished. The sun is getting higher in the sky everyday. Today was and tomorrow will be in the 40's. Light and some warmth at the end of the tunnel!
