Sorry, this thread is useless both pro and con as a buyer review, IMO. Maybe the original poster can delete it (edit 1st post and choose delete) or the admin can move it to the OT section where the bickering can continue.

I'm surprised this thread is still alive.

I will vote for keeping you here, Bill, as long as you avoid becoming a rusty German jeep.

How very cryptic... How I wonder to what you could be refering...

Well this thread certainly got into the realm of the weird.
I don't get it - if the transaction occurred 2 years ago, why complain now?
I restored a '75 Suzuki GT750, posted it for sale, and a fella drove 20 hours to pick it up (Halifax to Montreal!). The bike looked fantastic, ran well but really needed somone to set up the timing and tune the carbs properly. The guy who bought the bike rode it around the parking lot, declared it fine, and took it home. He emailed me a while later to say the electric starter was weak/failing. I didn't have another starter to send so he fixed it himself. Months later he sent me pics of the bike - he had been riding the wheels off of it while leaving his Hayabusa in the garage. He was really happy with the bike and had no regrets buying it from me even with a few glitches it had.

Moral? I advertised the bike as a 9 out of 10, and it still had faults even though I had been through the bike completely. NOTHING is perfect when it comes to old machinery. I honestly represented the bike, and the buyer knew he would need to do a few things to make it run the way he wanted it to. Both of us were happy.

From the list of problems on the GT750 you bought I would think these were fairly minor - almost to be expected. With the years of motorcycling experience you have i'm sure you realize that most people are not perfectionists when it comes to maintenance or repairs, and ALL old bikes should be expected to have SEVERAL minor faults - either not noticed or not important to the seller.
