Here's how I mounted my camera.

I used industrial grade velcro. The one with adhesive on the back. All you need is one circle of the velcro hook and loop. These are my extras.

Cut it into a rectangle to fit on the camera.

I put the velcro loop on the camera.

And the velcro hook on the helmet.

Here's the camera mounted on the helmet.

The helmet closes with no issues and my vision is not obstructed.

I did a test video just walking around in my backyard and it looks great! Should I upload it?

Test video... Went up to my super secret private canyon again today, turned it on and blasted for 22 minutes. Would have been farther but the gas went onto reserve right away, didn't want to go too far into the mountains. Anyway, popped the SD card into the computer, now it's a stop action video, like watching porn with a slow internet connection, but there's no internet involved. If I pause the playback for a few seconds then hit play, it will run for about one second before it goes into the stop action. Any ideas why this would happen?

What kind of SD card are you using? You should use only a good brand (Sandisk, Sony, etc.) that is class 4 or higher.

Before you play the video try copy and pasting the video directly to your computer's desktop and try playing it again.

Mine's works perfectly and hardly skips at all. I'll get a vid up tonight to show you guys how mine works.

It's a class 10, 8 gb card. I have used it in another camera taking video, it works fine. It also worked fine on about eight or ten shorter videos, walking around or riding around the block...
I tried doing the desktop thing too, no good.

Wow! A class 10? My SD card is only a class 4 and 4GB. Everything works perfectly. This is the only video I have uploaded using this camera right now.

You can see it skips at some points but is hardly noticeable. I will get another vid up tonight.

I cant get the software to install and have been googling for software for it and have found a couple of comments.

Tkent. A review I watched (sorry no keepy linky) mentioned that you are best to upload the video to your pc and watch it from there as the device upload speed isn't fast enough to stream from the device so results in jerks and pauses etc. Dunno if that helps.

The other thing I found (no, not the software) was that these are a clone of a better quality device (Model:SCI-DVR80 or MD80)with a couple more buttons. Which has now been superseded (hence flood of knock offs of the original) by the Model: SCI-DVR90 Price: $129.00 .... 10x the $

Lol. I've already given half of mine away, just waiting for the calls to start coming in. how do i get it to work.

You don't need any software for the camera to work. It basically asks like a storage device.

I figured that may be the case but thought maybe the web cam function would be able to be accessed without a memory card installed if the software was installed to the pc. My lap top doesn't recognise it when plugged in (prolly cause of no memory card) and doesn't appear to have a web cam icon or driver. I will try it on my desk top shortly.

Got a 8GB Micro SD card and set the time (Tag file). Windows 7 wouldn't recognise it when plugged in as anything other than a flash drive till I managed to open the driver then it also recognised it as a camera device. (still cant get it to work as a web cam)

Went for a 30 min drive (in cage) and took some footage. Watched it straight off the memory card and it streamed faultlessly.

Picture quality while not top of the line was way better than it should be for the $.

Have worked out that my helmet wont allow mounting with a slip in type bracket because of the hinge for the internal sun visor so am velcroe mounting it just to the front of the helmet to the side of my big nose.

Will post a video after I have gone for a bike ride.

BULL! I totally lined up in front of you!

I figure that I did damn well for my first chain drive bike, brand new to me, first time at the strip, still really new to riding all together. More experience at the track and I think that you will see a nice jump in my times.

Sorry for the Hijack. I was planning on buying one or two of these also. for $10 a pop all said and done.. they are worth it.

I finally just decided to mount my camera on the chin of the helmet. This way I have easy access to the buttons and can see them if I look in the mirror. The Shoei helmet is a little cramped inside so even though it would fit under the visor, the buttons would have been a real trick to push and see the light.

I will still try and tape over the mic to avoid wind noise.

Used some Velcro like Flaming Chainsaws did. I used the little mount that angles so I can get the feild of view directed properly.
