    Z1 Enterprises

Rode out with a buddy of mine to meet at Z1 Enterprises in Marion, NY yesterday. About 30 mins from my house. I wanted to pick up some brake pads, permanent brass adapters for my carb intakes, a brake switch and some stainless steel lines.

Got to meet Jeff who showed me the facility as well as his 1973 Kawasaki Z1 900. Great guy, incredible facility and gorgeous bike.

Jeff even took the time to talk to my friend and help him sort out some high idle issues with his Kawasaki.

"Bakes" was the rep who helped me with my purchases, putting together a bolt kit for me and even taking me back into the warehouse section of the facility while he picked out the bolts. He also spent a good amount of time looking over my bike, and convinced me not to go with SS lines, as my lever had no sponginess to it and my lines looked great.

In all, a great experience with a great company.

"Bakes" has always been able to decipher all of the various parts that I request even when I am unloading several different models/years on him at the same time.
He has yet to get anything wrong! Simply amazing!

I love Z1 and recommend them highly.

Regarding brake likes, Suzuki calls for changing them every TWO years, which obviously is excessive, but still, if you have the originals you are pushing 25 years overdue to the maintenance schedule set down by the company that built your bike. Lever sponginess be damned. It's time for new lines.

Jeff's a teriffic guy. Love his New York accent!

And he's also a member of this forum. Not too bad for a Kawi man.

          They aren't the original lines.

ordered carb bowl gaskets and pilot plugs for the carbs on the 1100G around Wed at noon via their website after calling them to confirm that the parts were in stock. very competitive prices, used the $7 usps shipping option. got an email shortly afterwards indicating that the parts had shipped and the email had a link to a tracking number. parts arrived at noon today, tracking # worked great, not used to getting that level of tracking with usps shipments. 3 days total, great job, *will* buy from them again in the future. great experience.

I'm new to the game, but the lion's share of my business has been with Z1 and I think they're fantastic. Fast, prices seem fair to me, they have what I'm looking for most of the time, great descriptions on the site etc etc. Always the first site I check when I need something.

I'd like to edit in that I just received a package today (Monday) that I had ordered Friday night, which made for Saturday processing. Standard 2-3 day delivery via USPS and it's here already despite Sunday being a day off for USPS. Screaming fast delivery!!

had a great ride to z1 last year. about 75 miles for me. i went through downtown rochester on the way there just for fun and across the top of a couple of the finger lakes on the way home. they have it together there. i'm working on a list for this year's parts run now.

not much from the outside but inside is neat, clean and purely professional.

they were gracious enough to let me warm up a bit 'cuz i sure picked a crummy day to ride out there (55 degrees and rain for the entire 150 mile round trip).

                    Thanks for the kind comments...
                    it is very much appreciated.

We do work on Saturday mornings to clear the overnight orders - otherwise Monday is just too busy to get everyones order out the door the same day.

We are out of room in our current building (10,000 sq ft, but only about 7-8,000 sq ft is effectively usable) - it's hard to believe how much space we've consumed - but we are maxed out on both office space and warehouse space. There's 8-9 of us now - and we really could add a couple more people. So...we purchased a 12,000 sq ft building across the street to give us some expansion room - we'll likely split our operations between the two buildings - so with yet another small building (3,000 sq ft) across the street in a different direction, we have 25,000 sq ft available now.

You want screaming fast delivery? I live about 10 miles down the road. Couple Friday's ago, I ran up there, Rob fixed me up with a Rick's stator, R/R and a gasket. I was back home, installed and running less than three hours later! Love the place.

One thing that's awesome about z1, aside from their great service and selection, is they are on the EAST coast. Too many suppliers are west coast and 5-7 days or more.

The thing I love about Z1 (and please Jeff, I think I can probably speak for anyone who owns an old UJM of any make, DON'T CHANGE THIS!!) is that the ONLY specialize in UJMs. As such, they actually KNOW the bikes they're dealing with. I get sick of dealing with young kid parts counter jockys that ask me why I don't just buy a new bike, or look at me like a deer in headlights when I ask for certain parts.

                          So on behalf of the entire UJM community, I ask this;
Expansion and growth is awesome, and we're happy you're doing well! But please oh please don't become another one of these places that was once awesome for service and knowledge and dealing with customers and then got too big for their britches and everything went to schit. I don't deal with quite a few different parts houses anymore because of this. Keep up the awesome work!!

I live out West and it never takes more than 2-3 days tops to get an order here from them.
