Yea you are right (I read through the site more after I posted that). Sure hope they are as good as they say though; unfortunately I was turned off by the pricing - too rich for me right now.Cowboy Up or Quit. - Run Free Lou and Rest in Peace

What I found most impressive about that example is the price. OMG! I am WAY too cheap to even consider that! I've been looking at Leatherup and their prices are in my zip code at least. Haven't yet purchased though.

I'm on my 3rd Toumaster jacket, now. My first was a 3/4 length Sabre (they are all armored pretty much the same) but this is my wet-nasty cold riding jacket.
Then I got the Range (denim armored), which looks good and not so much like a riding jacket. I don't use the "Brokeback Mountain" collar it came with, though... This garment is not so suited to wet, unless soaked jeans and jacket is the desired look.
I just picked up an Intake 2, mesh outer with armor, inner membrane liner for wind/rain, and a zip out quilted liner for cooler temps. Doubt I'll be getting much use from the cold-liner, as I have better coats for that...but the mesh was soomething I really wanted since there's not alot of cooling behind the Vetter fairing I use.
Other brands may offer good pricing and safety, but I'm sold on this brand.

My next jacket will be the latest Alter Ego from Rocket. It's a three season jacket and I'm tired of having three different jackets depending on the temps. I'd rather get the leather version but I can't spring for it, plus im not sure even with the convertibility of it that it would still be cool enough in the thick Midwestern summer air here. The newest Ego is a full textile shell that zips completely off to reveal a mesh shell, and has both a quilted zip out liner as well as a "water/wind resistant" liner. Whatever that means. And apparently you can wear that liner as a stand alone windbreaker. Most places have them listed for around $240 so not too bad on price either.

motorcyclegear.com has the Ranier Jacket and the Teton jacket on sail again. $232.00 for either. I think the Ranier is top of the line. I just bought one. We'll see it in a few days, I'm sure.Last edited by 850 Combat; 02-19-2012, 11:37 AM.sigpic Too old, too many bikes, too many cars, too many things

Ok so perhaps I spoke a bit too soon. My leatherup.com package just arrived. I still was never notified of shipment or given a tracking number.
Also, I've heard people grumble a bit at the quality of the zippers on the Xelement gear. You can count me in that group too now.
