    Blank key's on Ebay...

Has any one here bought the blank keys I have been seeing on Ebay. I can get one from Suzuki for $15 but have been seeing them on Ebay for $7. I just want to see if Any one here has had any experience with buying them off ebay.

i have seen them but i dont know the quality of them. bear in mind you will still have to pay to get it cut so probably paying 15 bucks to get a genuine key is a better option

I got my keys from a local locksmith, think they were about $3 apiece and she cut them as well.

I also just went to a local locksmith. Easy peasy. If you want a Suzuki logo on the key or something then I suppose ebay or the dealer, but for my money...it's just a key.

Thanks guys.. Didn't think a local locksmith would carry keys for our old bikes. Need to have one made for my truck too so I guess I will check home depot.

You gotta have the black plastic housing with Suzuki logo on it!
Not complete with just any old key blank.

There's a guy on Ebay AJJohnson or AJohnson or something who will cut you a key by number.
Have used him a bunch of times (but not for a while) & his prices are good.

I started a thread about him a while back that you can prob find in a search. Several others had good experiences with him too.

Any locksmith can cut a key by number, though I doubt Home Depot would have a blank. I just had one cut by number and a spare made. $2.50 for the blank, $5 cut by number, and $3 to copy.

Yes I seem to remember his prices were in the $7-8 range including blank/postage etc. Pretty hassle free.

This is the guy but he doesn't currently have anything listed. Probably get him with a message though

Go to Ace Hardware. They will have to order them from their warehouse, but they will order it, cut it, all for less than $3 a key IIRC.

Ace Hardware found the closest match they could and cut it for me at about $8.

The locksmith I have here ordered the keys from Suzuki, all they needed to know was the year model and even got the suzuki logo on them.
