Got their package today (4 intake boots and one clamp). Almost exactly 2 weeks after I had placed the order. However, I understand as to why because they probably had to order them from Japan, then ship them to me. But, the thing that bothered me was that I had emailed 2 separate employees and got no response. The first email, almost a week has gone by and still no response.

While yes G&S is cheaper than most, I don't think I will be buying from them again.

I had a similar experience with them. After a week of not hearing anything about my order, I sent an email and got no response. After another week, I called to get the status and the guy said that the package was shipped the previous day via UPS although he said it didn't have a tracking number. (All UPS packages have tracking numbers...) He was friendly and polite, though.

From what I've seen, their prices seem to be a little better than boulevard.

week and a half out on my order, next time i will stick with babbitt's, pay the premium, and pick up locally.

I got no e-mail response. So I called them, the guy said the parts were ordered. I put the order in on the 22 or 23 of March. I guess I have a while to wait. Good to hear you guys got your parts. I won't worry now.

My experience exactly. If they would just respond a little better they would be a preferred vendor.

Except for Z1, who actually keeps stuff on-hand, I expect an order to take about two weeks. I don't bother with e-mails until after that, which hasn't happened yet, so I don't know how responsive they might be.

So far, they have met (or exceeded) my expectations, but I also realize that my expectations might not be quite as demanding as yours.

Places like G&S don't stock the parts - so the key is:

How quickly do they order them?
How quickly do they ship the parts once they are received?

They should have the parts in hand from Suzuki within 2-3 business days depending the time of day you order - the key is how quickly they order from Suzuki. If they batch up parts and place orders every couple of days, this slows things down.

Depending how G&S ships the transit time from Texas to California is only 2-3 days.

Yes, most of us realize that most of our online vendors do not stock all the parts. You don't even stock all the parts that we might need, (they aren't shown on your website) so you have to order them, too.

I, for one, will accept the fact that some vendors might only place orders with Suzuki a couple times a week, hey, they might only receive orders once a week, how would we know?

I just try to factor the extra time into any project I am doing, then have to balance the time/price factor, too. Quite often, I will do my shopping and find that some of my parts are cheaper at vendor 1, but the rest are cheaper at vendor 2. I then have to look at the shipping costs to see whether I accept the higher prices at one of the vendors because it will still be cheaper than two shipping costs or go ahead with two separate orders.

Personally, I still get what I can through Z1, but for most of the stuff that you would have to order for me, I can save a decent amount of money with another vendor.
Sadly, I came to this realization after ordering some stuff, then finding out what it cost after the order was placed. That was my fault, but it was a lesson learned.

I don't know if Suzuki uses the same system, or acronym, called a Moose Order (Motorcycle Out Of Service Emergency), they used to have when I worked for a dealer in the late '70's, but I do remember they'd get pretty exercised if you over-used that system for orders that were clearly not emergency situations. It costs them quite a bit to do a lot of small orders, so they 'encouraged' dealers to order in as close to bulk as possible to cut Suzukis' costs, by way of free freight to the dealer, and other incentives. So, it's natural for dealers to want to assemble larger orders, both to save on operating costs of their own, and to maintain good relations with the Mother Ship.

wow, this thread blew up a bit. 3 weeks out, still no parts, an email to them got a prompt response that my order shipped a few days ago, but no tracking number or other updates. hopefully my stuff comes today.

i should add i paid 15 dollars for shipping on some small parts that would fit in a padded envelope. I'll stick with paying tax and local pickup at babbitts.

Well, I am actually trying out a new site that is based in Arizona called Apache Motorcycles (They also have yamaha, etc). I actually bought some grips for my bike but i just did a test of G&S vs. Apache and here's what I "ordered"

Just out of curiosity, why are you only getting four clutch springs? I thought all these bikes came with six.
