    UK Parts Shops

    Hi folks

I'm finding it hard to locate UK based parts dealers.
If any UK members out there would like to share, then this thread could be a good place to list shops/websites you've been happy with.

    Many Thanks
    Assaf

      Thanks Hampshire.
If anyone would like to add more dealers then that would be great.

Hampshire, I found those three already yesterday, but Robinsons don't have GS850 1983 parts and the link to 'classic parts' in Crooks doesn't work.

Wemoto has parts, but at the moment I'm seeking Calliper OEM rubber parts, and OEM full gasket sets and Wemoto's are aftermarket (or so it looks).

Do you have any UK sources for OEM calliper parts and Engine Gasket sets?

      Many thanks

I would look in a Classis motorcycle Mechanics magazine or practical sportbike. They are UK mags and have tons of ads for parts.

Crooks' website isn't the most user-friendly, but if you give them a call, you'll find them knowledgable and helpful.

You could also try http://www.cmsnl.com/suzuki-gs850-19...9.html#results. Members have reported mixed results regarding stock availability, and it may be wise to check shipping charges.

Do you know the part numbers for the items you need?

Yes thanks, I know the parts numbers.
I've had good service from CMSNL in the past, but they're pretty pricey.

I don't actually live in the UK, but my parents do and I sometimes visit, so that's why I'm asking these questions. And anyway, I just thought it would be a good idea to get the UK dealers onto a single thread for future reference.

            So thanks very much,
            keep the references coming.

I've sent Crooks an email to see if they have the OEM parts I need.

If you let me know the numbers, I may be able to help. I've never owned an 850, but I have some unused Suzuki spares that may be applicable to your bike.

I've not bought from either of these guys, but come across them in my travels:

NRP specialise in carburettor diaphragms, air cut-off valves [or coaster enrichment valves] carburettor overhaul kits and spares for all Japanese carbs.

This website is for sale! patternparts.net is your first and best source for all of the information you’re looking for. From general topics to more of what you would expect to find here, patternparts.net has it all. We hope you find what you are searching for!

I wouldn't buy from patternparts.net - expensive and the parts are hit and miss (as I have found out).

For brake seals / pistons Nick Chambers can sort you out. Excellent guy to deal with:

Everything I have bought from Wemoto has been fine and their customer service is very good.

And Nick at NRP is a solid bloke.

You will get everything you need from Robinsons, send them an email or ring them they have a huge stock of stuff plus they're connected Europe wide and of course direct to Japan. They are certainly the second biggest spares supplier in UK if not the first after Suzuki GB.
All engine/brake stuff is off the shelf.
When it comes to sending stuff far away why bother with pattern parts that might fail? The cost of the part is insignificant compared to time and transport.

Don't say can't, as anything is possible with time and effort, but, if you don't have time things get tougher and require more effort.

Just received a few things from this group. I'm in Australia and postage from America is always a killer. I only ordered a few grommets and bearings but they turned up quickly and the correspondence for the order was good too. Happily recommend them.

Ordered a bunch of stuff from wemoto on tuesday morning and it arrived thursday morning. Mostly pattern but the clutch cable £12 looks good, and the starter clutch rebuild kit for £30 is reasonable. Watch this space.
Importer here wanted €40 for an oem cable and had no stock and would take a week to get one to Dublin.

I've been dealing with http://www.francosmotorcycle.com/for decades, way back since they were the London Suzuki Centre. Prices and availability are always good. Their website is crap, but a phone call or email gets results.
