Your prices seem very reasonable. And the shipping costs aren't bad. { I have a US address I can use } I'll contact you when I do the Kat's and see if you're interested. She's running good now but I'm pretty sure they'll need doing over the winter.

Canada post is the way to go from Canada. I send them back USPS and there are no fees and such at your end as far as I kniow of.

UPS and FedEx impose fees and tarrifs if I remember correctly.

I need to post more pictures, I am having trouble with my home computer and it a pain from my phone. The point of this thread is to say that Chuck has done an EXPENTIONAL job, cleaned these carbs as though as they were his own. Don't turn it into some kind of ****ing match. If you need some carb service and you want it done right, send it to CHUCK!!!!!!!!

Take them to the dealership and youll get an estimate of between $450 and $600 bucks...IF they even want to mess with them that is.

$174.00 ...... INCLUDING all the needed parts and orings is a deal in my book. And NO I did not do any mark up on parts or gaskets. What they cost is what he paid.

Rich...Was just reviewing the thread. If the engine isnt gonna be together for a good bit yet, give the slides a good shot of PB Blaster or other pentrating oil (from both sides) and work them up and down to keep the slides good and protected.

This help from moisture causing oxidation between the slides and the carb bodies while sitting..better safer than sorry.

Nice work Mr. chuck hahn, a glowing review.

Where did you get those "hard to find" parts? Others might need them in the future.

                        Thank you for your indulgence,

So you used the oring kit from cycle o-rings for the vm33 smoothbore carbs?
Does that kit include the super thin large o-rings? They are discontinued on every mikuni parts site I looked at. Also, all the orings in the kit are the correct size for the vm33 smoothbores?

Reason I ask is I contacted Mr. Barr and he said he was not sure they would fit the smoothbores.

                          Regards,
                          Daryl

I always tell a potential customer to go the extra few dollars for a well padded set of carbs in a slioghtly bigger box. These carbs arent that rare, but then again not an on the shelf parts supply out there either. best to err on the side of caution.

Those were VM33s that Rich had done. I stripped and repainted the tops, new Robert Barr orings, new bowl gaskets, and I had to hunt down new jet holder washers. Total cost WITH parts was $174.00 Rich had sent a return UPS label with the carbs, so that was real nice that shipping was covered.

Hope to be of service to anyone here. Just send me a PM. I also do a heck of a nice job on polishing engine covers..HINT HINT!!

Cliff...I originally hunted down washers at Niche Cycles..but they sent the wrong ones. So they took the pictures I sent them of the original one that was there and sent me 4 new brass ones of the right specs.

In the interum of hunting, Eric bang answered my phone call and he looked in his stash as we chatted and he sent me 20 washers as extras.

Sudco supposedly has them as well. I also contacted a place in the UK called Allens Performance and the said the washers are NLA from Mikuni..dont know.

I got the new rubber end caps from Sudco..they said they only had 38 in stock and when those were gone no more would be available. Knowing that, I got Rich what he needed for the rack and 2 extras for his parts bin.

And for the thin orings on the throttle shaft links..his were still good and soft, so i reused them. By Roberts orings i mean the fuel tubes and needle orings were all spot on perfect.

I would think those thin ones could be sourced maybe thru Grainger or McMasters??
