We all have to work on boring ol' cages sometimes, and buying parts from RockAuto.com is a great way to reduce the amount four-wheeled appliances cut into your motorcycle budget.
You do have to know exactly what you're doing and exactly what you're ordering. If you need help figuring out what you need, or if you want to be able to easily return things, then you should probably buy locally. Advance Auto in particular has some excellent online discounts -- you can usually save 20% or more if you order online and then pick up locally (try entering the code P20 at Advance -- it'll usually work four or five times per user), so it's the best of both worlds. But for major parts, it's hard to beat RockAuto's prices, plus you get a choice of suppliers -- you can avoid crappy generic parts brands like Cardone, Anchor, and Wells, and quite often you can find OEM supplier parts.
If you get a RockAuto discount code, please post the code and the expiration date here and keep this thread going.
If you'd like to debate or discuss RockAuto or buying car parts in general, please visit the "RockAuto Rocks" thread or start another thread. Let's try to keep this thread somewhat clean -- only post here if you have a new RockAuto discount code to post or if the thread needs a bump to stay visible.
Here's how to use the code, from the RockAuto email -- note that each code can be used many times, and you're encouraged to share the code:
Please note: We sometimes get calls from people who put the word "discount" in front of their code and do not get the discount. Please enter ONLY the discount code, no other words or numbers. Code must be entered before order is submitted to receive discount.
The discount takes 5% off our already-low prices. There's no limit on order size or the number of orders. Use the code for your next order, and share the code with friends, neighbors, relatives, the guy at the corner garage--anyone you know who works on cars or trucks.
