Can You See Me NOW? REV'IT Energy Hi-Viz Jacket

I've been looking at Hi-viz jackets lately and got a closeout email a couple days ago from Motorcyclegear.com for a REV'IT Energy HV Jacket, MSRP $269.99 - closeout price $159 with free shipping.

It arrived today and it is VERY bright! The pics don't show how bright it is. It is moderately heavy and 3/4 length. It has CE approved shoulder and elbow pads and a foam back pad. It has adjusters for waist, arms, collar, cuffs, and hips. There are vents on the chest and back. It comes with a zip-out thermal liner which stops a bit short of the wrists to allow gauntlet gloves to fit. Sizing runs a bit small, I ordered a XXL where I usually fit XL. It is a slightly snug fit with the liner in but not too tight and a nice fit without the liner. I think it is a nice jacket, especially considering the price. As of now they have all sizes except XL available.

    Thanks,
    Joe

Hi-Viz indeed! Looks like a good deal on a nice jacket. Hope its crash-related features never get tested.

        Don't count on it.

But those who are looking might notice something.

Sweet! It takes the new CE-2 back protectors too.

It looks nice & I like Rev-it stuff in general but a lot of their jackets have gone over from Cordura to using a lot of polyester in them - Abrasion resistance of "not much"....

"Outer shell consists of EN471 certified neon yellow 600 Denier polyester, ribbed polyester material and Monaco Performance cowhide"

Looks like this one has some leather somewhere in it so hopefully in the crash zones....
It's still a great price for that jacket when compared to Fieldsheer, Tourmaster etc (those are all mostly poly too).

Nice Picture - you should have done one in the snow

Revzilla has it too for $10 more if motorcyclegear runs out... http://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/r...ergy-hv-jacket

Wash it regularly...the yellow in mine (Scorpion) has taken on a bit of a "muddy" appearance. Still plenty bright, but a little tarnished...it's actually quite amazing how dirty it can get and still stand out

I've been considering getting one of these "bright" high visibility jackets. Maybe there will be a Christmas in July this year.

Welcome to the hi-viz side, Joe. I started making a 'spectacle' of myself back in 2009 and now I would would never leave home without it.

Anticipate that a lot of drivers will think you are a cop, particularly if you wear a white helmet.

I really don't want the word to get out on this. If everybody starts wearing them they will stop being noticeable to the cagers.

How is the overall fit and finish of the jacket? I am interested in another REV'IT jacket, and haven't heard many reviews from people who aren't trying to sell me something.

And I'm liking the Hi-Viz look. I almost bought I Hi-Viz helmet a while back. It looked nearly impossible to miss, kind of looks like a big tennis ball or volleyball.
