Just bought a 1980 US spec GS1000G and the speedo only goes to 80MPH I'm in England and would it be possible to fit a 140 speedo Or does anyone know if the speedo face can just be changed and if so who in UK could do the job

If you're asking if we've got a 140mph, over here that will swap onto that bike, No. Whatever your "80" GS1000G's had on them over there, should bolt right on and work fine. Back in those days, there was supposedly a co. that made 160mph faces and a gadget that reduced the speedo cable speed by 50% to make it register right. I never saw one. Only difference i see is that the skew-drive gearing might be different at the bottom end. If so, that's easily sorted with parts from the same Euro-sourced bike.Originally posted by dbd32 View Post
