    Suzuki options for GS1100EZ ???

Just read, in bikes wanted section, a guy has an "82" GS1100E with a was Cooley, color matched fairing that was a Suzuki option in "82" and a Yoshimura canister type 4 into 1 that was also a factory option in "82". Were there options for the GS1100E's??? The only thing I ever remember was in "82", if you bought a new GS1100E, it wasn't an option, but Suzuki gave you a new Bell Tour Star helmet painted to match your new bike... Also wonder about the Yosh 4 into 1 pipe, when did the canister pipes get started? I'd have figured all the 4 into 1's were megaphone back then.

I had some original brochures for my '82, but there isn't any mention of that fairing or other options. I had one on my '82 that I bought used, It had a smaller headlight fitted to suit the fairing I think maybe it was a dealer-installed option. When I bought my first bike, a new '82 Kawasaki KZ1000J, the dealer had put on a Wes Cooley fairing and pinstriped it to match. I remember those helmets, my friend had one. No cannisters that far back I think.

Well, birthdays have caused a memory lapse again, I's thinking a Bell Tour Star... I just don't remember bikes having any "factory options" back then, though a few months there was a GS550, on here, with an optional Suzuki fairing. Can anybody remember when the 4 into 1 exhaust first started the canisters? I'm remembering megaphones on GS's, KZ's, and CB's..

Dang it Tom, why do me this way? Are you say'in the "82" GS1100E came with these "Bell Tour Stars", they do look like the orig. color? Or did they come with a "Bell Star as trevor said earlier?.. Still would like to know when the canisters first came about, been looking and asking but not found anything. Hard, "for me", to believe there was an optional Yosh canister type for an "82" GS1100E.... Why can't I see all the 3 pictures in what you put up there, only one I can see is the front of the helmets?

My friend had one in '83 when he got his GS1100E, it was an exact paint match just like these. I guess it's an 'accessory' but my mind first thought of things attached to the bikes for that term. They didn't come with them you had to pay as I recall through the fog of time. Never really thought about the cans, maybe GSXR.

The helmet wasn't an accessory. Buy a GS1100E and get a free helmet. The helmets weren't given at time of purchase cause helmets weren't one size fits all. When you bought the bike you told the dealer your size then would get it for you.... Still thinking with Trevor, they came with a "Star", not a Tour Star.
