I love these bikes, they aren't exotic at all but just clean, classic, no frills UJM. I bought these from the original owner of the blue bike, a friend of his bought the maroon one at the same time, then he bought it off his friend. 30,000KM on the maroon one, 105,000KM on the blue. I sold the blue one because I was going to spend too much on it if I kept it!1986 1150EF

The September thing didn't come into play until the new VIN requirements in the late 70's. This had more to do with the automotive world and I'm not sure when the motorcycle industry joined in the fun. I have a GS750 frame with a date code of 8/76 but licensed as a 77. I do know prior to the VIN update, motorcycles weren't title the year they were built, they were titled for the year they sold. I have a friend who has a Norton and he was able to change the title to show the year it was built. 71 verses 72. And he still has the original title...Current:
1993 ZX11 - 2nd build in progress
1977 GS750 (710 is getting closer)
1998 Kawasaki Voyager - selling
1998 Chevy C2500
1999 Rav4
