My opinion, Looks and seems like a good deal but pictures can be deceiving. What it looks and sounds like when you're standing there looking at it is what matters. Good luck and keep us updated.1983 GS1100E, 1983 CB1100F, 1991 GSX1100G, 1996 Kaw. ZL600 Eliminator, 1999 Bandit 1200S, 2005 Bandit 1200S, 2000 Kaw. ZRX 1100

Can't go wrong at that price and mileage. I stay away from them when they're missing parts as those costs add up. Getting it running is usually no big deal even if it needs a rering (not usual in my experience). Just budget for the standard tires, chain, sprockets, battery, carb gaskets, ignition parts and brake parts. Up here in Canada it usually comes up to $1500 leaving room for the odd surprise so probably budget $1000 in the USA to make sure it is safe and reliable.1986 1150EF

Those are good bikes. Check my signature links for the newbie mistakes thread and how to rebuild the carbs. A little work upfront will mitigate a lot of heartburn later in ownership.Ed

Looks nice and original right down to the exhaust. No personal experience but those there who have worked on the carbs say that the airbox is extremely difficult. Have you seen it in person?. I only ask because that's a NJ plate on the car in front of it and your profile says MO.Last edited by dorkburger; 12-16-2024, 02:57 PM.sigpic
When consulting the magic 8 ball for advice, one must first ask it "will your answers be accurate?"

That bike sure don't look like an XS850 to me. Pretty sure it's an XS850 "special" , the special was to Yamaha what the "L" models were to Suzuki... We called them Disco Cruisers or Cruising for Burger bikes....Waaay different that the GS700.1983 GS1100E, 1983 CB1100F, 1991 GSX1100G, 1996 Kaw.
