    1100e mpg?

What are you guys seeing on average for MPG on a 1100E?

It's been years since I put any miles a big bore and have plain forgotten how far i can get on a tank of gas.

Fill tank and drive? Fill up and do math?
Any answer someone gives you will reflect their driving habits and be largely useless.

No matter how crazy you ride it, should be north of 35 mpg.

Stock in '82 was listed as 47 mpg, 213 till reserve, per Cycle World.

2016 XL883L sigpic Two-tone blue and white. Almost 42 hp! Status: destroyed, now owned by the insurance company. The hole in my memory starts an hour before the accident and ends 24 hours after.

Thanks works for me, my challenge is i have a tank full of ethanol free long term storage fuel, that i don't want to burn up just to get an idea of mileage. Since this bike is really more of a show peice i would like to keep the crappy ethanol gas out of it as much as possible since it won't be ridden to often. And when I ride it and need the junk gas, the mpg will give me an idea of how much to fill and burn off before i top back off with the good gas.

It's all OEM except the shocks, seat is original. I have OEM shocks but they don't dampen any more. Need to cut them open and try to fix them.

I never paid it too much mind, thinking it's better than my car and way more fun, but on measuring it's between 35 an 40, I am not light on the throttle. 42 years ago I rode from Daytona Beach Florida to San Antonio Texas in one day (1160 miles) on an '82 GS1100E. We got up at 5AM and rode till midnight, had to be back at work on Monday AM. I got about 40 MPG on that run, we were doing north of 80 for a lot of the time.

Did a 1300 mile run. Same year, same Bike. 2 days. No way could I do that in one shot. Start looking for gas at the 200mi mark.
