A bunch of stuff today...
Some noisy stuff that will be revealed in good time, fixed the sagging left pillion peg, wire wheeled the tank badges, got the new ball joints on the gear change arm so I can change gears successfully, and got the fuel and vacuum hoses hooked up.1982 GS450E - The Wee Beastie

Theoretically I adjusted the clutch... I put it like that because with the clutch lever held in it's quite hard to turn the rear wheel when in gear.
I suspect it's as simple as I need to get some wheels spun in anger to free it all up as this is the first time I've tried to use it since the engine rebuild...1982 GS450E - The Wee Beastie

Adjust it with warm oil after you ride it this weekend.

I would rather trust my bike to a "QUACK" that KNOWS how to fix it rather than a book worm that THINKS HE KNOWS how to fix it.

On the wrenching front: Calibrated sending unit today. Fill, check, drain, adjust... fill, check, drain, adjust... fill, check (snap off a bullet connector... ), drain, adjust... and finally reading 1/2 full.

NOTHING! I went for a ride! Bwaahahhahahha. First time in a long time I was not wrenching before riding. Felt good. Bike ran great (GPz, GS has a slight tummy ache).
Was supposed to help wrench on a friend's WS-6 TransAm, but he was a no-show. His loss. My gain.

Put my missing split pins in the axles and rear brake stabiliser arm, stuck some fuel in her, fired her up and checked the ignition timing for the Dynatek (spot on) and checked the charging system with the new R/R installed (spot on).
Then I took her for a shake down ride!!!
Round the block for the first time in nearly 10 years
Yeah that felt good! Just need some bigger pilots so she'll come back down to idle properly and she'll be all good to start tuning after getting her registered
Pic's and video will follow shortly in my rebuild thread for proof that this event occurred1982 GS450E - The Wee Beastie

Mindless
Well, I was working after midnight on it so I guess it classifies as "today".
Out with the old...
In with the new.
I'll put up a project thread on it later if the moderators don't mind.
