Returned this evening from our yearly trip. Thankfully, the only casulties were a Goldwing headlight bulb, Harley taillight bulb, and a dying gs speedo drive. Hoping to post pics this week.

Road Runner Project Hits the Road

Finally getting out and about on this project. Nice to be back riding a bike of my own after 15 years.

        The sheep were not amused:

Took her out for her first proper ride with the new Windjammer 4. Definitely a bit different handling upfront but all in all I'm very happy with the practical side of things. This is going to keep me riding all winter that's for sure.

The ride home wasn't nearly as nice. But again the fairing proved it's worth that's for sure.

I never thought I would like having one of the full size fairings but I'm a believer now

Does that big Fairing come with Air Bags?

I'm hoping I never find out! I know these old fairings aren't known for their curb appeal but man I really appreciate their practicality. There's nothing I like more about a bike than it being a work horse. I see a lot of show room condition bikes, and I do like shinning my own up once and awhile but when I see a weathered bike, with bungee cords and bolted on plastic crates, I nod my head in admiration...she's a rider.

Agreed. Use = wear. wear = character. character = living history , and a machine and owner with a story to share...

I neglected to take any pic's however I went out yesterday with just one of the Kat guys and we had a real nice cruise around. Took it easy as it's a double demerit points long weekend here and expected lots of the boys in blue to be out.

Perfect blue skies and my 450 is much nicer with the slightly leaner needle.

I had a swap onto the Kat for a short run... man that thing has some go! 1360cc or thereabouts and over 6K RPM she just takes off like a rocket

Hey now, I resemble that remark!

I finally got out for a ride today, 300 km loop.
I was planning on meeting up with some friends and taking part in the Frosty Balls rally, but I ended up helping out a friend until 3.

it's about 8 degrees today, and yes, the balls were very frosty.

                    Dead battery
                    No speedo
                    No tach
                    No lights or signals
                    Multiple oil seepages

Ran hard all afternoon and never missed a beat!

Yeah been working 11 days on and 3 off, and those three days I got a million things to do so I haven't gotten really any riding time in aside from a few jogs down the highway.

The night times lows are already mostly below freezing, and today was the first non rainy day above 10C in a week.

I set out today knowing it was going to be the last ride I'll take this year, So I spent most of the ride on long empty highways going much more than the posted limit, which was 100 km/h.

                          It was indescribably awesome.

Aren't you afraid of getting it dirty?? droooolllllllll....

Trevor and I got out for a 'jaunt' today as well. Beautiful day for riding around here. I think it was up to 18 celceius for a high. The leaves still haven't started to fall yet and for the most part the roads were dry and very little gravel. Lots of bikes out that's for sure

Good food and even better views. There was a pretty nice FJ1100 there, Trevor's probably got a good picture of it.

I think we did just over 300km's, a good ride.
