How dumb is that? To put into action, adolescent behavior for a single-point opinion that indulges others into joining.

I'm on a Craft Beer site (Untappd) and take pics of: Flights, Growlers and Beer Menu Chalkboards. People are less likely to sneer, chuckle, snicker, giggle, etc. Is it a "Rider" mentality to look at other riders who stop to take a picture? (I usually say, "don't answer that, I'm thinking out loud but not today) It's an individual reaction that was learned from being evaluated yourself (I'm saying this in general terms).

Peer pressure as a Rider matters to "Us". Whether we ignore it or let it affect our livelihood, it can have a negative effect (or a positive spin) depending on how "one" handles it.

I'm glad to see GSR members take the time to stop in the middle of their ride, take a pic, download it, upload it, then post it here. The effort is worth sharing the experience.

What is said here almost everytime someone joins? Repeat it with me..... We like pictures....
Yes there are times when I can't be bothered to stop for a pic, but I enjoy sharing when I can and also like seeing other's corners of the world.
as far as separate threads, on the rare occasion I get to take a trip, I'll start one, otherwise I post here.

Humbug!! I'll admit it's a bit awkward sometimes stopping to dismount, especially two up, just for a pic but sharing the ride with others around the world is a terrific thing. I'll likely never ride in South Africa, Australia, Scotland, or Canada and the bikes there are as unique as the countryside. Also have never been to many states in our union and chances are others haven't seen or may never see some things around here. Sometimes I ride by a terrific spot and wish you all could see what I'm seeing at that moment, share the awe etc.

Hahaha, no it was so warm in Albuquerque figured a cooler would help. Up in the hills in spite of the snow it was still way above freezing, 60 ish degrees F. Good thing too since some of the shaded spots on the road were wet with snow melting. I cringed coming across those spots but just took it cautiously and it was fine.

Welcome to the area Bob! The riding around here is phenomenal. I don't frequent Deal's Gap often anymore with the rampant stupidity up there these days so my usual rides are picking a direction and going until I'm well lost and need to head home. Then I'll turn on the GPS and let it escort me. If you want some introductions to riding in the area and to see new things there are two resources for that. Richard leads rides from Smoky Mountain Harley-Davidson every Tuesday morning (all bikes welcome) and he is a walking talking encyclopedia. Paul is another, you can find his ride reports on easttnbikers.com, he rides almost daily and welcomes small groups of two or three people to ride with him. He can tell you about nearly every road (paved or otherwise) in this area. Chris (from this forum) and I are both local GS riders, drop us a PM sometime and we'll get together.

Yesterday I had to go up Island to Qualicum Beach to meet a Veteran in need of some help. I knew I would get wet at some point...rode all the way up and no rain but is was pouring when I left the meeting. I didn't mind..had the gear...took the long way home too...great to finally get a good ride in...total trip was 375kms...and I even got paid mileage to boot!

I put 70 uneventful highway miles on the 1150 last night, but the apogee of the ride did include one of the better Mexican restaurants in Phoenix.
