Ran out of gas on my Triumph TT600 earlier this year, just because the low light senor quit.
But my replacement part was less than a $100. Of course I did the labor myself.

Did you charge yourself BMW repair rates? Get yourself somethin' nice and go out for dinner at a nice joint.

Short version: biggest suspect is fuel guage lie to me and really did run out of fuel.
Other detail: Replacing what we would call the sender (beemer lingo: fuel strip) approaching $700.

Present plan: me start useing trip meter more (digital, fumble thru menu of functions, havent used much) for need of gas stop..... and observe fuel gauge function just to see what it does, but not rely on it for fuel stops. Isnt any Reserve petcock. Maybe guage just doesnt go much below 1/4th any more (used to, then get light, then flashing light).
Later plan: Maybe might get fuel strip replaced during other service when tupperware already off.

Other secondary plan: Concider what other bike better fits my (our) needs. THis dern thing, even though is a factory low, is still tall and heavy and I dont feel comfortable anymore with wife riding with me (and other obvious factors about that situation that is no polite way of describing).
My Stoopid beemer has the low fuel light coming on at just over 1/2 tank. So yeah, my best friend on the bike is the trip meter.

What is it with beemers and their fuel gauge? I always set the trip meter. When it gets near 250 better find gojuice.

Did take out the TT600 yesterday...First time since I got the new Speed400.

Still a great looking bike, but man, I forgot how "tight" the seating position is.
Thinking it might be time to let this one go. Or maybe not.

That warehouse in the background is an Amazon warehouse built in 2021. Empty ever since, and still not open...rumors say end of October.

I can count the times my wife has ridden with me on one hand. It’s just not her thing. I keep asking though. This afternoon, I asked if she’d like to go for a little ride. To my astonishment, she said “yeah, OK, a short one, though, like 10 minutes.” Well, we suited up and the 10 minute trip turned into about 50, but she never complained. She did squeeze me quite hard between her knees when I passed a car. This was the first I’ve had any passenger on the Tiger. I didn’t know how I would like it. It’s a tall bike. The pillion perch is really high up there. Balancing at slow and no speed definitely took a lot of concentration. But once moving, the extra weight disappears. I think she’ll go more often now.

Went for a nice ride couple of days ago with some buddies to one of my favourite places. Kootenay Pass in south eastern BC. About 100 miles from the house. Great scenery in the summer, brutal in the winter though.
