Got a 3.5hr ride in on Saturday.
I happened to ride up a super steep dirt road with tight switchbacks, going so slow, I was almost stalling in first gear.
My son is hosting a mountain bike jump event here called Whoolley Fest in August. I'm about 3/4 up the course.
2nd shot is a place called Big Rock.
I'm liking the Metzler Road-Tec-01's, haven't ridden Metzlers since the 80's (ME-99A's)

Last weekend I organised a 12 man dual sport ride. We rode up to Port Renfrew via trails, logging roads and some pavement on Friday after a great breakfast and view at the Malahat Chalet. We spent Friday and Saturday night at Cabins in Port Renfrew....100 yards from the pub. Hot tubs and saunas too!
Lots of first timers in the group...these are all my safety meeting buddies and some are now wanting to join us in the dirt.....the newbies did great!....a few dropped bikes but that's what happens with experience or not.

Nice shots! Looks like a great time & overcoming difficulties that present themselves.
Surfed there back in the late 90's.
Did you stop to look at the big tree outside of Renfrew?
I have to ask if the Africa Twin on the ground was purchased at Costco?
One was on display at my local store recently.
Well... about a year & half ago.

I recently learned I was walking by Jim Morrison's (former) residence every day on the way to school. His dad was stationed here on Kirtland AFB in 1952. It wasn't till 1987 that I lived in this neighborhood, but still pretty cool to find this out, plus I was the same age he was walking these streets.
Here's his old house on Candelaria Rd

Back in High school at lunch time, they had a stereo system in the cafeteria.
My friends a & I used to annoy all the conservative type students (privileged white folk), playing "The Celebration of the Lizard" off Absolutely Live & other Doors songs like the End, When the Music's Over, etc.

I can't remember if you're running different rims than stock, for better tire choices?

Thanks Carter. GSXR wheels 3.5 front, 5.5 rear. Have Michelin Road 5 front and back. Cut and welded the steel swing arm to fit 5.5 wheels. GSXR rear sub frame. Aluminum belly pan catches the drips.
Track was cold with new sealer, I felt some slip on the front. Yikes, 3 people had low sides, 2 yellow flags no biggie, one bummer red flag ambulatory.
I was only working on learning the track. I did push it up to about 130 once this day. I have had this oil cooler up to 140 on the straight before.Last edited by Buffalo Bill; 04-22-2025, 12:48 PM.1982 GS1100G- road bike

Oh, Grisha, how could you!?
Just kiddinglooks like fun.
Are you going to make it to the Brown County Rally this year?
And I still owe you and your brother lunch at Kavkaz. Next time you’re crashing through the woods of Central PA, give me a shout.
