Break-in stickers
I bought a 81 gs250t and a 85 gs550e not that long ago and both of them had the factory break in warning stickers on the speedo and tach. I'm torn about removing them, I guess everyone that owned them before felt the same which is why they are still on there. Anyone seen these before?

Yes, I saw some before. But only while on the dealer's lot.
They were removed before getting off the property.

When consulting the magic 8 ball for advice, one must first ask it "will your answers be accurate?"

I got the stickers off, but after 30+ years on the lenses, they would only come off in dust form. I tried a heat gun, but that did nothing and I was afraid of melting the plastic. I eventually settled on Goo-Gone and a sharp plastic scraper. I used the scraper to chip at the edges and the Goo-Gone to quickly wipe the residue off. No scratches to report, and after a quick buff with plastic polish (Meguiar's), the lenses look great.
The whole time I was chipping away I could only think about how easy these stickers would have peeled off back in the 80s.

My '82 650L still has them. I left them there because, one, I just don't care, and two, Too much risk to damage the lenses trying to get them off. Can barely see them as they are quite faded... I'm selling that bike to my step son. If he wants them off I will do my best to help him get them off without damage...'83 GS 1100T
