    Correct

Last January on a bitterly cold winter's day, a North Dakota State Trooper on patrol came upon a motorcyclist who was stalled by theroadside. The biker was swathed in heavy protective clothing and wearing a full-face helmet to protect from the cold weather.

What's the matter? asked the Trooper

"Carburetor's frozen," was the terse reply.

"Pee on it. That'll thaw it out."

    "I can't," said the biker.

"OK, watch me closely and I'll show you." The Trooper unzipped and promptly warmed the carburetor as promised.

Moments later the bike started and the rider drove off, waving.

A few days later, the local State Troopers office received a note of thanks from the father of the motorcyclist.

It began: "On behalf of my daughter Jill..."

2000 GSF 1200 Bandit (totaled in deer strike)
1986 Suzuki Cavalcade GV 1400 LX (SOLD)

I find working on my motorcycle mildly therapeutic when I'm not cursing.

Thanks. Was wondering how it ended. Won't want to me a driver like him.

            From the announcement:

TACOMA, WA – Today Prosecutor Mark Lindquist announced no charges will be filed against Aubrey Tayler Bowlin in connection with the shooting death of Bruce W. Jones on February 8, 2018 by the side of Interstate 5. Ms. Bowlin said she acted in self defense and, given the evidence, the Prosecutor’s Office office can not prove otherwise.
According to witnesses, the altercation began when Mr. Jones became upset at how Ms. Bowlin was driving her motorcycle on I-5 on February 8, 2018. He boxed her into a location she could not drive away from. After exiting his vehicle, he aggressively approached her on the shoulder of Interstate 5.
The fight that followed was initiated by Jones. At some point, Bowlin head butted Jones, who then drove Bowlin's head into the jersey barrier before taking her to the ground. Bowlin shot Jones once in the chest when he attempted to climb on top of her.
“This is another reminder to everyone to keep a cool head on our roads,” said Prosecutor Mark Lindquist. “Nothing good is going to come from physically confronting another driver.”

Interesting. I wouldn't do an interview no matter how much I wanted my story to be told.
It all boils down to how stupid it is to let yourself get so angry over something that's really nothing. You don't like what some other driver is doing, so you physically confront them? I've been angry as hell myself in the past, even flipped the other driver off (which is stupid too) but you have to be able to say "this will be over soon and I'll never see this SOB again" and let it be. You can't confront someone over the issue involved. Lane splitting? Someone might get somewhere a little quicker than you? Let's beat someone up over that?
Now he's dead. To tell you the truth, the roads are a tad safer now that he made that decision. Very unfortunate and very sad that it'll happen again.
                  Thanks for sharing.
And on the seventh day, after resting from all that he had done,God went for a ride on his GS!
Upon seeing that it was good, he went out again on his ZX14! But just a little bit faster!

Now this is a justifiable self-defense case...based on her testimony/description/injuries sustained on this video. Unlike the other self-defense incident in Florida, this is by far considerably different scenario. It has clearly affected her "after the fact."

No doubt many riders would react as she did when being followed too closely, as well as when another vehicle comes up beside.

Acceleration is strongly in the bike's favour.................but so are brakes.

When it came alongside, allowing the other vehicle to pass by through quick and sharp application of brakes would mean it would pass quickly, and the biker would still be in control of both bike and situation.

Yes, the other vehicle could still brake and stop, but the prospects of side collision and being forced into another vehicle or into the barrier would be gone the moment the other vehicle passed the bike.

What would happen to that driver's rage moment? That remains unknown, but the biker would have controlled the mobile situation as best as was possible, and as safely as possible.

Its always easy to monday morning quarter back any incident but I have had people crawl up my butt and I just get out of the way and let them pass. Especially now that I ride in AZ where the speed limit seems to be "as fast as you can go". I wasn't there so I don't know that she had the opportunity but it does kind of sound from her interview that when he climbed on the shoulder she could have tapped her brakes and let him in front.

Having said that ... it was not her duty to do so and once he laid hands .. she was well within her rights to protect herself. I have carried for years and carry virtually everywhere I go. I have never pulled out my gun and hope to never have to .. but if you attack me .. all bets are off.
