The 1100E (and 1100L) started in 1980, it was a 16-valve engine that did put out a bunch of power. I don't know if it was 105 from the factory or not, but it's certainly capable of reaching that number easily.
The 1100G (and 1100GL) came in 1982. Basically just a puched-out version of the 1000G, but it was a bit more tame, with it's 8-valve head.
The fact that it has a Vetter fairing (or any other fairing) on it hints that it might be the G model. There are two quick ways to tell which bike it is:
1: Look at the valve cover end caps. Are they round or rectangular? The round ones would be the same as the ones on your '78. That would be the 1100G. If they are rectangular, that would be the 1100E, with 16 valves.
2: Look at the left side of the swingarm. Is there a chain or a driveshaft? Chain is E, shaft is G.
