Ah, found it. $425 doesn't seem pricey to me for great work.Komorebi-The light filtering through the trees.

His expertise as a factory mechanic and his emphasis on carbs makes it worth my while.
AS far as that is concerned - I DID my own carbs on the GS TWICE
And I had done carbs before that set successfully - and finally sent them to STEVE for his expertise in getting the 850 set running right !

Not to but in on anyone else's lick but I can rebuild carbs. Send the rack, o-rings and anything else you want to replace and I'll do it for much cheaper. Anything that needs to be replaced will be authorized by you before ordering. It's not hard to set everything to spec when you have the right tools. 2 days to get it all done and half that is the dip. Cam chain tensioners are an easy job if you can find the right oil seal. $425 is way too expensive to strip, dip, repair/replace and set to spec. I'd like to take on a few jobs on the very cheap in order to show I know what I'm doing if anyone's willing to take the chance on me... I'm just a PM away...
I've rebuilt my bike carbs and pretty much every carb I've ever owned at one point or another including 4 barrell holly carbs on a couple trucks...carbs are simple devices with lots of parts is all.

Pricey but excellent reputation.

I've rebuilt a bunch of Keihin's now since getting my hands wet with my KZ750 and they are a little more tricky than a Mikuni BS/CV but not that much more. For that price I'm sure you would get charged if there are any parts that need replacing too, or at least that's what his FAQ suggests.Ed
