    Curous Mix of Features?

    Ok gang,

    Help me out here.

Interesting looking bike. Feels like wrong engine, wrong rear frame and wrong suspension for an '83 GS? Gage cluster looks right on?

    Swing away...

    Thanks, Alan

Yep, looks right here. Well, ... as "right" as an "L" can be.

The L bikes always had that chopper-wannabe look, but the '83 550L really changed all that.
I like the blue and the wheels, other than that, I'll pass.

Trying to figure out if this is worth a ride for the 5'1" bride to sit on. I am not finding much internet specs. Even my beloved http://www.motorcyclespecs.co.za/mod...s550l%2079.htm came up short for the '83.

The tank looks smaller than on a pre-'83?

Figure it is still about a 29" seat height?

        Thanks, Alan

Looks to be in nice condition. Show the bride, if she says cool, take her and $1,200 and go check it out. If she tippy toes it, you can drop the forks in the trees an inch or two and if need have some of the seat foam shaved away to get her on a little better footing. I did that with a 550T I bought my wife. I found out a few years ago when looking a cheap '85 to flip, that the igniters for the 83-85 550L are hard to get for those bikes, so do some research first.

Looks like those bars aren't regular tube handlebars, if so you won't be able to easily change them if the bend's not right for her.

Looks to be quite clean. Decent enough price as long as it runs at least like he says it does.
