    Gs850

I am new to the forum, I have a 80 gs850 and replacing pistons and rings, but wanted to know if I could put a 1100 or 1000 jug and head on top or just bore the original. It is a project bike so anything goes

I can tell you are new, this particular forum says in its description "this forum is not for technical questions".

Replacing the head might work, but not the jugs, at least not without some other major work.

The wrist pin diameters are different, so you would have to get some special pistons made or bore out the hole in the 850 con rods.
I don't think there is any real advantage of using a larger head. The header bolts have a different spacing. The carbs are a different size. There might be other differences that I am not aware of.

What year is your 850? That would make a difference, too.
