    Rear signal light question

Hello from frigid upper Wisconsin - (yesterday's temp was -15 degrees F)

Yesterday I went into my unheated storage shed to retrieve a tool and inadvertently bumped the left turn signal on my 1985 GS700ES with my leg - I of course cracked the stalk due the cold temperature.

I can probably get away with just gluing the stalk back together, but I would rather replace it.

Can anyone tell me what Suzuki model, and year, rear signal lights will fit my 1985 GS700ES? I was told that the same rear signal light assembly was used over several years and models. Also, is there a difference between the left and right rear signal light assembly?.....the micro-fiche doesn't indicate a left or a right.

The closest parts listing I could locate was from a 1983 GS750 which listed 35603-31330, or perhaps 35603-31331 , as a possible replacement.

Do you, or do you know anyone, with one for sale?

Can anyone steer me in the right direction for a replacement?....or if you have a nifty way to glue the stalk back together?

    Thanks for your time !

dependinging on the plastic, can be glued together. Try ABS pipe cement as a test...or heat welding
There are no differences left or right.
as to replacements, I'm not awfully familiar but maybe this will give you alternates, which can be a big help on ebay

Your turn signal is still available from Suzuki.

K&S makes aftermarket replacement turn signals that look the same as stock but are more reasonably priced. Their website doesn’t provide the info needed to figure out which one to get.
You can use eBay to figure that out — search for “K&S rear turn signal Suzuki GS700”

Just be aware that the fronts and rears are different. The fronts use a two element bulb (1157 bulb) as they serve as running lights.

Edit- I may be wrong. I only see two wires on the Suzuki diagram. May it's an 1150 thing.

front running lamps are not just an 1150 thing.

you dont have to use both filaments, unless you want amber rear running lamps. The fronts are shorter, so they look a little cleaner when used on the back and less likely to get kicked than the longer stock rears.

K&S makes different length front and rear blinkers, the later GS (86 I think) are three wire front for running lights, they are also the short stalks. I dont think there are anymore NOS blinkers, I tried to order them from several places only to be told they are no longer available. I ordered the last NOS from the Netherlands and my bike is a 3.1k k mileage original and I am trying to keep it that way and also even they are close, the lens cover from the stock blinkers will not fit the K&S blinkers...I tried.

Google K&S Technologies, find turn signals, go to Suzuki, it'll say by part # or by by application, pick by application & find your bike model. Looks like the Rear, Long w/2 wires are 25-3106, Personally, I'm with derwood, I've always used fronts on rear, just cause I like the shorter cleaner look for the rear, front short are 25-3065 3 wire, to use on rear, just figure what wire is the bright, turn signal wire, connect it, & leave the other wire, parking light wire, un-plugged. Usually on ebay for appx. $25. Hope this helps.

Agreed on the short stalks. As far as lenses, the K&S ones for my 1150 were nearly identical, with the only real difference being the screw / washer style (still the same size) and a different name in the plastic mold.
