Aftermarket GS850 (82) Seat Pan Finally Available

I posted a while back looking for a replacement for my pan, I contacted the owner of Texavina directly and he cobbled this up for me. Just placed my order, I'll followup here with pictures when it arrives. Hope this helps someone else; I'm not plugging his merch, just providing info in case anyone else was interested or in need.

    Cheers,

    Nice!

Although the product listing isn't quite correct -- it fits the '82-'83 GS1100G and GS850G. There was no GS1000G those years.

I'm also wondering if this pan would work for the 82-84 GS1100GK too. I think there's a good chance of it, but I can't say for sure.

I seem to remember some mention some time ago about installing a G seat on a GK for better ergonomics.

      Or was it economics?

I notice they say they can supply the pan on its own for any of the seats they list as fully built.
That's handy. Most of the bare pans they have listed are around $129, which isn't too unbearable.
Otoh, an extra 50 bucks gets a complete seat...albeit probably not as comfortable as the original.

Correct - he offered me a complete seat, I turned down his offer as I already have replacement seat cover and foam. I was originally trying to repair my seat pan, welding in new steel to replace the rusted out bits. It's one ugly duckling, a work in progress.

Just a heads up to anyone considering this, it apparently ships from Vietnam, so expect 2-3 weeks for shipping. Cheers.
