I will say that emotion plays into it for me as well. The bike that hooked me on streetriding was the 83 1100e I owned in the 90s. The Kawasaki LTD 550 that I started on is just a footnote.
I'm sure that my time with the 1100 plays into my opinion that the 82-3 1100e bikes are among Suzuki's best looking bikes.sigpic
When consulting the magic 8 ball for advice, one must first ask it "will your answers be accurate?"

My favourite GS will always be the 82/83 Katanas. The style alone makes it a forever bike.
Having said that though, my favourite GS to ride (that I owned) was my old 81 1100E restomod... it was a total Frankenbike but performed well above the sum of its parts. Just so good.

The '81 was a hair quicker at 11.1 ET.

So it's decided, it's unanimous - 1983 GS1100E in red, or an '82 painted to look that way.1982 GS1100E V&H "SS" exhaust, APE pods, 1150 oil cooler, 140 speedo, 99.3 rear wheel HP, black engine, '83 red

83 GS750ES. By my eyes, one of the nicest looking metric bikes ever. Nice curves like the GF. If I ever get off my dead arse, I plan on a resto mod version of this bike using a GS1100E and that paint scheme. Nicest one I ever rode? My 79 GS1000S. You could drive all day on it with ergo's (seat!!!) that put modern bikes to shame. liked it better than the 1980 version I owned for awhile.Current Rides: 82 GS1100E, 00 Triumph 955 Speed Triple:twistedevil:, 03 Kawasaki ZRX1200, 01 Honda GL1800, '15 Kawasaki 1000 Versys
Past Rides: 72 Honda SL-125, Kawasaki KE-175, 77 GS750 with total yosh stage 1 kit, 79 GS1000s, 80 GS1000S, 82 GS750e,82 GS1000S, 84 VF500f, 86 FZR600, 95 Triumph Sprint 900,96 Triumph Sprint, 97 Triumph Sprint, 01 Kawasaki ZRX1200, 07 Triumph Tiger 1050, 01 Yam YFZ250F
