Yeah, you can't go wrong asking Brian. That Kentucky location for Rocky Mtn. ATV works well for me. I ordered a tire on Thursday last week and it arrived my house on Saturday.

My only complaint is the date code on the brand new tire. It was manufactured the 2nd half of October 2018!!. I thought it might be a new model but I guess not. What I got was a Avon Cobra Chrome. It's going on the front of my Triumph.

Ouch. Your new tire is already 2 years old.

I like to stick to the brands that give me the most feedback from the saddle.

Since I've owned my bike for a long time-1993, I trust the tires I use over n over.

Don't really care about mileage, just figure a new set each year.

I'm reluctant to try anything new or different because I'm happy with the predictability the mismatched tires I use provide.

Dunlop 591 front 100-90-19, Pirelli Sport Demon rear 140-80-17. The Dunlop does have a Harley logo on the sidewall.

Used to run other rears, but they've been discontinued, like the Dunlop 205 radial.
          GS\'s since 1982: 55OMZ, 550ES, 750ET, (2) 1100ET\'s, 1100S, 1150ES. Current ride is an 83 Katana. Wifes bike is an 84 GS 1150ES

Yes. I thought the same thing, OUCH!!!!. But no worries, it will get plenty of use before it reaches 4-5 years old.

And you went ahead and installed it with that logo? Wow, your credibility just took a serious hit.

              Just kidding you sir.

Well, if you're more sane than insane and unlikely to be scrapping the handle bar grips in the turns, probably be fine. heh

I find I prefer to go for miles vs price... You end up around the same cost per mile... But the Value is in not changing the tires as much. 30K miles a year I've learned the Michelin Road Series is my go to for my motorcycles.

The Shinko 705's are great shoes and I have a set for the Bonnie for the start and end of the season. However the bulk of the miles I'm on Michelin Roads.

I tired Dark side on the VMAX because there was a very poor selection of MC tires for that specific size (200 50 ZR18). I am now back to a Shinko Verge 011 after a not so fun cool morning with the tire. I should see how hard it would be to get a FJR1300 17" rear rim to fit on the VMAX... I could run Michelin Roads and other great tires.

So end of day, tire life is how i decide what to buy and ride.

                    Best,

I hear ya. I tried Shinko and they were fine for handling and inexpensive too, but they were worn out in 4500 miles.
Michelin Roads cost quite a bit more, and have excellent handling. In multiple sets of them, I average 18K on the B12 rear before the tread is down to replacement depth with the Roads. In cost per mile, they are cheaper than Shinko and I only have to change tires once compared to four times. LOL
