MOT legalities (uk) for 40yr old bikes since registration

    Just wrote a long explanation but all text
    gone as using mobile.....

    I'll let you guys believe that but I too have
    done this and a few weeks ago online and at the post
    office with bikes 40 years old and not historic.

    The dvla site is where it's all stated
    and is clear.

    I most certainly have no issue riding a bike
    40yrs old that is taxed insured and in superb condition
    on the road but not yet classed as historic.

      Just to end ... I wrote to dvla and
      they have in writing agreed with my thoughts.

      But I agree with Zed that be prepared for a long
      discussion if you get stopped as it is confusing.
      I also carry copies of all documents as Zed said,
      Insurance and v112 filled out.

      40 years old is the only criteria for not requiring
      a mot and using on road.

      Tax and Insurance we know about.
