I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

Could someone post a pic or 2 of the underside front of a 1100gk seat pan? I have a 84 1100gk with a modified 1000g seat on it. I would like to return to a oem setup. I?ve done several parts searches and have not found anything pertaining to the front mounting pins that slide into the clips near the fuel tank. Thanks in advance, any help is appreciated.

Andy

That looks pretty close. I seem to be missing a spacer piece. I have 2 studs coming out of the seat pan about 2.5” long and the piece with the pins. If I put together, not enough clearance to fit the seat. I plan on fabing something unless someone has the parts they want to get rid of.

Actually I don’t think the studs are as long as I stated. Is that a stamped steel wedge or rubber?

Wedge? Not sure I'm understanding. The spacer you mentioned in your previous post is rubber. Maybe that's the wedge.

I believe I am referring to the rubber spacer. Anybody have an extra there willing to part with?

I'm curious... are those two bolts embedded in the rubber or do the go all the way through the seat pan?

Would you be willing to take the measurements of that rubber spacer and either post them or pm them to me? I believe I can make one from some scrap rubber from work.

I have some round rubber pads and rectangular ones too but nothing like that big one.

Seems like you got the answer about the specific dimenstions and such of that front mounting.

Other notes about GK seat:
- THe mounting is the same as the G seat (G, not GL). GK & G seat are interchangeable (me and PlaneCrazy tried it), they are different, but are interchangable, the mounting are the same.

- That front mounting, where it mounts to the seat pan, seems to be most subject to rusting out.

- I looked for a couple years (ebay search-alert)before I found a decent stock GK seat to replace my original seat. Most all that came up were bad shape. THose that looked like might be half decent, on closer look that front mounting area was rusted out (like my original one).

- 82 GK seats are solid black. most 83 & 84GK seats are two tone.

Design of all G seat mounting of 81 and prior are different than 82 and after.
82 and after had the latch/release on back and those pins on the front (previous was latch on side and hinges on other side).
So if you are looking for other model seats, you will want 82 and after.
