    About to get 87 1100

I am trading some stuff for 1987 1100. The seller says he was told there is something wrong with the wiring harness . Whoo knows what means. I will see it in a few days. It will be 4 gs bikes i have owned. Does this one have shim and bucket valve adjustment?

Sure that year is correct? The only 87 1100 I see is a GSX-R1100. Pics would help.

Thinking the Katans's were still around in "87", both would be rocker arms. Not a clue of anything related to a Suzuki V-twins

GSXR-1100 is what I was thinking. Truly a beast in it's day. I recall that Cycle World had to lower the front to get a quarter mile time. The front wheel just would not remain earthbound.

2016 XL883L sigpic Two-tone blue and white. Almost 42 hp! Status: destroyed, now owned by the insurance company. The hole in my memory starts an hour before the accident and ends 24 hours after.

That would be either a GSXR or the more civilized Katana whose engine was basically a slightly detuned GSXR engine. Both are shim under bucket. Been there done that, not as scary as it sounds. I don't remember them making an 1100 cruiser that year ......could be wrong though.

Its what the guy said in his ad. It looks like my 80 gs 1000 only his is a 1100. I wont know till sunday.might not be an 87, it for sure isnt a katana or E, looks like a G. He has the harness untaped, laying across the top of the frame.it has one pipe each side.the tank is shaped like my olg gs 1000. I thought about 85 they went to locknut setscrew . The pics are so few cant tell if cam end caps are round or square

G should be shaft drive and 8 valve shim over bucket. I believe all the chain drive 1100s were 16 valve/screw adjust valves. Need pics.

We realize your situation, but till you know what it is, we're all just guessing...along with you. Rocker arms W/ screw & lock nuts started with the "80" models with 4 V per cyl.

Soon as I get it i will post lots of pictures. I have owned about 75 motorcycles. My favorite was my 80 gs 1000L. I know people here dont like L bikes. I can tell this is chain. I thinks its probably 82 gs 1000. I will be asking questions about the harness.

Still guessing, the only "82" GS1000 W/ chain dr. was the SZ..the Katana
